Deco foil Hello friend card
Hello friends, Luisana here back with a card that was different for me to make. I had heard of deco foil before but it isn’t something I had worked with before. That is, until now.
Each package of the foiling pages comes with 10 different pieces of paper, so you get a lot for your money. I chose this pre printed paper as the base for my card, the design of it just intrigued me and I am so glad I did. It turned out so cool!
The patterned paper is actually printed in toner ink, this is the ink you need to get the foil to stick to the paper as it passes through the foiling machine or laminator. Each package comes with 4 sheets size 8.5” X 11”, which means you can cut each paper into 4 equal A2 size cards.
I used a laminator to foil my toner sheet and the result is just beautiful. I went ahead and trimmed an eighth of an inch off on all sides and glued it to a A2 white card base.
I wanted the foiling to be the main focal point of the card and I didn’t want to overshadow it with any extra embellishments or decorations, so I cut out the word “hello” out of this alphabet dies three times and glued them on top of each other to make each letter thicker. I glued them to the upper side of the card. I stamped “friend” on a small piece of card stock and glued it below the hello. I put three nuvo drops next to the word friends and called it a day.
I have to tell you what amazes me most about deco foil, even though it looks purple in the package, after being transferred to a card the color changes depending on how you hold it. It is the coolest thing. Yes, all three photos posted here are the same card.
That’s a wrap for this week. If you haven’t tried playing with deco foil yet, go ahead and take the plunge. You will love it.
Until next week
