Autumn Greetings Card/Nicole Martel
Good morning friends! I have a fun mixed media card to share with you today and I'm going to share how I created it! Ah, I just love how this turned out.
To begin, I used a palette knife to cover the card panel using purple Candy Coat.
Next, I used my Sizzix to cut the Easy as Pie die slice pieces from the out of water color paper. I used water color paper to prevent the die from warping...
After I cut the dies, I had to look at the pieces to determine what colors and mediums I wanted to use for each piece. This part is very important. If I didn't pay attention, I would have ended up with purple crust... and that would not work.
I used yellow Candy Coat to color in the ice cream, and purple Candy Coat to color the filling part of the die. I used the Brown Aqua pigment to color in the crust.
Next, I used a panel die to create little squares for the background. I thought this would look pretty with the purple peeking through part of the die that I cut in a triangle. Then, I assembled the dies together using glue.
I cut the snippets out and used purple ink and a blending brush to change the color from white to purple. Then I glued the pie and gems down on a 2" circle die. After that, I mounted the card panel onto the card base.
What do you think? I though the purple would make a great background since the pie filling was purple.
Don't forget to check out the shop for all the new product and thank you so much for visiting today!
