Tangled Waves + Thanks Die
Hey crafty friends!
It's Jess and I'm sharing a fun thank you card today featuring a couple of different products from Brutus Monroe. I'll be using the Tangled Waves stencil from the Mermaid Lagoon line and the 'thanks' die.
To start of my card, I snagged the Tangled Waves stencil and a few of my favorite Distress Oxide inks. I used Cracked Pistachio, Faded Jeans, and Peacock Feathers. I blended on each color and the overlapped them to make the change in color more gradual. I like the softer transition to each color. I also flicked on some drops of faded jeans using a splatter brush.
I trimmed down my background to 4in x 5.25in and then grabbed a piece of vellum. I have been on a vellum kick lately, so a lot of my projects have included it. It's so fun! I love the way it makes a simple project look more elegant. I wrapped the vellum around my card front and adhered it on the back so I wouldn't have to worry about adhering it on the front at all.
Next, I cut the 'thanks' die from a piece of gorgeous Charcoal Glitterstock. Even though this is a thicker material, it cut like butter with just one pass through my Cuttlebug. I can't get over just how shiny and sparkly the surface is - and no glitter comes off!
I adhered my sentiment to the vellum strip and then tied a pretty piece of jute twine around the card front. I mounted my card front on foam tape and then added a few black Nuvo Drops for some added interest.
I love how this card turned out. Do you keep thank you cards in your stash or do you make them as the occasion pops up?
Hugs and love to you all,
