Stencil of the Month + Birds of a Feather with Jess

Hey craft friends!

I'm so excited to be back with another card for you this week. Today, I'm sharing a card featuring the brand new Stencil of the Month and some goodies from the Birds of a Feather Inspiration Box. Hooray!

To get started, I actually created this colorful background panel during a live video this past weekend. If you missed it, you can catch it on YouTube (HERE). I smooshed Distress Oxides inks directly on to my stencil and then spritzed it with water. I moved my stencil to a clean paper towel and then placed my white cardstock on the stencil. I gave it time to absorb the ink and smoothed it out to ensure I got nice coverage. I carefully pulled the cardstock off and had a beautiful background! Now, my background today is actually made from the leftover ink after I got my first pretty background. I love that you can get more than one background this way!

I trimmed down the background panel and used my Mini MISTI to stamp the sentiment 'life is art, live yours in color.' I thought this went perfectly with my crazy and colorful background. I used my brand new GIANT roll of foam tape to pop the panel up and used a strip of gorgeous glitterstock on the left hand side.

For my card base, I used one of the feather images from Birds of a Feather and stamped it all over the card base using Sidewalk Ink. I adhered my panel and glitter stock to the card base and tied a pretty piece of twine around. I added a couple of sequins and that finished off my card.

I really enjoy combining elements from new and previous purchases to really get the most out of my supplies. Do you have a favorite combination of supplies you like to you? Share in the comments!

Hugs and love to you all,
