Rustic Balcony

Rustic Balcony

 Greetings,

I am loving all the stamps from Brutus Monroe. I have been having a hard time choosing which stamp to use next. Please check them all out on BrutusMonroe.com.

Today's card has been fun because I used several techniques to create the brick wall background. I colored the texture paste with Brutus Monroe surface ink in wagon. (Wagon makes a great brick color.) After applying the paste to my brick stencil on gray paper (so I had the mortar taken care of) I flicked rouge shimmer chalk spray to create the aged effect on the bricks. Not being completely happy with my wall, I ink blended more wagon surface ink over the entire background to give the wall depth.

Next, I stamped and cut out the wonderful Rustic Balcony stamp from the Brutus Monroe May release. I colored in the stamp using Copic markers. I used dementionals to pop up the balcony and affixed it to the card base. To finish the card, I embossed the sentiment from the Sharon Script stamp set in Brutus Monroe sterling embossing powder on a coordinating banner. I also popped up the sentiment with dementionals.

I hope you enjoy creating various backgrounds to showcase a favorite stamp like I do. As always, please share your creations at #BrutusMonroe.

Enjoy
