Mixed Media Tag by Jenn DuBell
Hello Brutus Monroe Friends and Fans! Jenn here today to share a fun mixed media tag I created using one of the new amazing stamps and some other Brutus Monroe goodies!
For this project I have used the following Brutus Monroe products:
Gilded Sparkle Embossing Powder
Mixed Media Stencil - Floral Tapestry
Other supplies:
Glue
Chipboard Tag
palette knife
Chipboard pieces
flowers
Here are the steps I took to create this super fun tag!
Stamp the image using Raven Detail Ink
Start by using the Chroma Mists as watercolor to color the stamped image.
Next prep the tag by coating in a heavy white gesso and dry.
While the gesso is drying use glitter glazes with a small paintbrush to accent areas of the colored image.
Set aside and allow to dry and move back to the tag. For this step use a palette knife and stencil with media paste to add texture.
The media paste can be dried with a heat tool. This will give it even more texture by bubbling a bit. Next add water to the stenciled areas lightly. Dip a small soft paintbrush in the hydro wash espresso and add it to the water. It will wick and flow if you move the tag around a bit.
Dry with a heat tool and repeat with the Mimosa Hydro Wash. Dry with heat tool and then add a bit of Chroma Mist Tangerine Orange and water. Dry with heat tool when desired look is achieved.
Next with a larger dry paintbrush dip it into the Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze and apply to the tag in a circular motion.
Love all that sparkle don't you?!
Finally add elements such as flowers, chipboards, and fussy cuts.
Use foam in layers to add the stamped image!
