Happiest Halloween | Brutus Monroe's Carson Collection

Marie Heiderscheit

Happiest Halloween! This fun card was made by ink blending the background and then using this Brutus Monroe stamp on a piece of vellum.
Marie Nicole here again! Last week I shared with you the Spooky Selfie stamp from Brutus Monroe's Carson Collection. This week I'm sharing this amazing stamp from the same collection.
I started by stamping the image on a piece of vellum. I used black ink and then sprinkled on some clear embossing powder. After I hit it with my heat tool I had this wonderful black embossed image on my vellum.
Now, I also wanted my vellum to look a little aged, so I held my heat tool very close and let the paper start to burn. I did this around most the edges. I just love that burnt distressed look that it left. I think it goes well with the overall theme of the card.
Here's a closeup of those burnt edges:

For the background behind the vellum, I took several of Brutus Monroe's Chalk Inks- Locomotive, Aubergine, and Jack-O-Lantern and just blended them together with a blending tool to get that fun gradient of colors. Then I spritzed it with a little bit of Tattered Angel's Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist just to give it some shimmer.
I then adhered the vellum to the panel that I colored with inks, and took that whole panel and mounted it on a black cardstock card base. To finish it off, I took some Canvas Corp Jute Cord and just added a little jute bow. Bows can be spooky, right?
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and Happy Crafting!
Fun Halloween card created with Brutus Monroe inks and stamps from the Carson Collection!
