You are my Sunshine Shaker!

You are my Sunshine Shaker!

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a shaker card I made using the You are my Sunshine dies and the Shades stencil! This card is so bright and cheery - and who doesn't love a shaker!?
I started with the Shades stencil - sprayed a light coating of Pixie Spray on the back and then put it on a piece of the Perfect Blends paper.
The next step was ink blending! I love ink blending and this paper makes it so easy. I wanted a sunny and bright card, so I used orange and yellow to make this background.
I used a fan brush, added some water to some ink on my glass mat and did some splatters.
Next, I used the shadow part of the You are my sunshine die in the center of my panel and an A2 stitched rectangle die to cut out the panel.
Then, we need to put liquid glue all around the outline of the die cut window, on the back of the paper.
..and adhere a sheet of acetate big enough to cover the cut out, but small enough that it doesn't show beyond the edges of the panel.
I cut out the You are my Sunshine sentiment from orange cardstock and glued the letter down in place.
For the shaker aspect, I used foam tape all along the cut out as close to it as possible without it showing through on the other side. Also, make sure you add foam tape all around the edges as well.
Before taking off the backer to the foam tape, fill the shaker section with lots of sparkly, shiny goodness!
Once the shaker part was filled, I removed the foam tape backers and covered the back with a piece of white cardstock.
All that is left is to embellish the front of the panel and attach it to the card base!
Have a sunshiny day!!
