Watermelon Paper Rosette
Hello crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by the Brutus Monroe blog today! I'm still playing with the patterned papers after our blog hop this week. I made a big paper rosette with two of the papers from the Fresh Melon pack.
I started by cutting the green watermelon striped paper into 3 strips that were 2.5 inches wide. I used my scoring board to score every 1/4 inch along the strips, and accordion folded the strips. I used hot glue to adhere the strips together and then used a circle of paper to hold the center together. I cut the pink watermelon paper into 3 strips that were 2 inches wide and scored them every 1/4 inch as well. When the rosettes were assembled I stacked them together with hot glue and glued a white paper flower to the center. For the card front, I used Raven detail ink to stamp the little stars from the Super Sentimental stamp set all over a panel of Alabaster cardstock, and glued the rosette on top. I heat embossed the sentiment, also from the Super Sentimental stamp set, in Alabaster EP on Raven cardstock and attached the strip to the card front. I matted the whole thing on a panel of Raven cardstock to finish it off.
This card is a little crazy because it's so dimensional! But it came out really fun, and I love the layers of Melon paper. Have you made anything with any of the patterned papers yet?
