Watercolor Floral

Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, sharing this watercolored floral card using the new "Love You Floral" stamp set! It's soooo gorgeous, and fantastic for coloring.

I started by embossing the image onto a piece of aqua pigment paper with Gilded Sparkle EP. I taped the paper down onto some hardboard all the way around the edges with purple tape, and wet the entire surface with clean water. I then used a large brush to loosely paint around the flower areas with Violet aqua pigment, and the leafy areas with a mix of Green and Yellow aqua pigments until the whole page was covered in a light wash of color. I dried the panel with a heat tool, and then went back with a smaller brush and filled in the flowers with undiluted Violet aqua pigment, adding in some touches of Red here and there. I added Green aqua pigment to parts of the leaves to make them stand out as well. I dried the panel a second time, and then splattered Gilded aqua pigment across the whole panel.

While that was drying, I heat embossed the sentiment with Gilded Sparkly EP onto a scrap of vellum, and then trimmed it down into a vertical strip. I adhered it to the dry panel, folding it around the top and bottom and holding it in place on the back with a piece of tape. I finished off the panel by matting it on a piece of Gilded Glitterstock.

Beautiful card. In case you don’t know this; prevent possible paper damage by applying tape to the BACK of your project, turn it over and apply another strip of tape to the extending tape only. Tape never touches front of paper. Happy new year.
