Under the Sea!

Hello!! Jessica from Purple Puppy Papercrafting here with some under the sea goodness! ...Full of sparkle and shine! I may not have used realistic colors for this card, but I think that is what made it so fun!

The first thing I did was work on the background for this card, and I used Distress Inks to achieve an underwater color blend using Mermaid Lagoon with some Peacock Feathers. After the blending was done, I spritzed some water on the background and blotted it off with a paper towel to add some texture to the background - I thought this kind of looked like bubbles! The underwater scene was really coming together at this point, but it needed something else and I thought that some glittery sun rays would be perfect - for this, I used the Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze. You can get this affect from any sun rays stencil you have, or by using masking paper and creating your own rays!

To create the sandy ocean floor, I cut some lunch bag Cardstock freehand to fit the bottom of my card panel and then spread Sand Paste across it coating the entire piece. When the paste dries, it creates an awesome sand texture, and it is purple!! If you purchased the ATC kit last month, you would have received one of three colors of sand paste, and they are all beautiful! (If you haven't tried any yet, the ATC Kits are amazing! You get some really awesome products in there!)

Next, onto the sea creatures and the seaweed! The stars of the show are the Plenty of Fish dies!  I used the seaweed die several times with different cardstocks, including the Mermaid Skin cardstock, and some coordinating glitterstock.

The fish and the crab were also cut out using some glitterstock and Mermaid Skin cardstock, but I also used the Mermaid Mists on the fish! I sprayed the Jellyfish, Seaweed, and Wave Mermaid Mists randomly onto some cardstock and then let them dry prior to die cutting. For the smaller fish, I used a piece of purple Cardstock sprayed with the Jellyfish and Wave Mermaid Mists for the base piece of the fish and the larger fish is cut from a piece of blue cardstock sprayed with Wave, Jellyfish, and Seaweed Mermaid Mists. These sprays are full of shimmery goodness!

The last thing I did was use one of the sentiments from the Conversation Clippings that were included in the June 2021 Inspiration Box - and foiled it with purple foil, and then cut into a banner. I love how this looks when the light hits it! ....Seriously, you can never have to much glitter, shimmer, or foil :)

Once all of the pieces were foiled, sprayed and die cut, all that was left was assembling the card. This card was so much fun to put together and I can't wait to make more!

Thank you for checking out my card and I hope to SEA you soon! :)
