Tropical Vibes

Hello Friends!

It has been beautiful weather where I live and couldn't help but want to create a simple card to share with everyone expressing how this weather makes me feel. What says summer better then a tropical themed card. Brutus Monroe created a wonderful Inspiration Box for May which included a stamp set with flowers that scream tropical/summer. I have taken the main stamp from this set and stamped all over a piece of Alabaster cardstock from the Brutus Monroe paper series in a teal ink.

Next I used the alphabet dies to cut out my greeting of Hello from this tropical flowered paper I just created. I then embossed a sub-greeting in Alabaster white embossing powder from the Brutus Monroe Embossing Powder collection. I may add that I use more Alabaster white embossing powder then all other colors combined. I would advise everyone to get this Alabaster embossing powder if you can only afford one. It is the most versatile one in existence! (my opinion)

I then created a beach like/tropical background using shell stamps (from a very old stamp set, not sure if it is still available but feel free to substitute with what you have on hand) on craft paper. Now for the layering: started with a 5x7 card base in craft paper, added a layer one in alabaster white, followed by my background layer. To this I adhered the Hello greeting using foam tape to give the card dimension. Placed the sub-greeting which was embossed on navy blue under the larger greeting and added a few bubbles to represent water. How simple this was to make and so very quick!
