Treat Bag Tags
Hello friends! Kathy here today sharing a fun project using Aqua Pigments to make tags for treat bags, whether as holiday gifts or anytime of the year.
Here are some the supplies you will need to get started:
- Family Traditions stamp set
- Tag cutting dies
- Watercolor paper
- Aqua Pigments, Red and your favorite color(s)
- Paint brush
- Alabaster Ultra Fine embossing powder
- Embossing Ink
- Water mister
- Craft heat tool
- Silver glitter cardstock
- Small jewel or pearl embellishments
- Ribbon
- Liquid adhesive
- Foam tape
- Paper towels
Using a stamp platform or large acrylic block, randomly arrange the word stamps to cover half of an A2 piece of paper. Stamp with embossing ink and then cover with the Alabaster embossing powder.
Shift the paper to the other half of the paper and stamp and cover with powder.
On a smaller piece of paper, stamp the Homemade from the Heart sentiment with embossing ink and cover with embossing powder.
Use an embossing heat tool to melt the embossing powder on the background and sentiment.
Place your embossed images on a clean paper towel or in a splash box and coat with a light mist of water. Apply a few drops of red Aqua Pigment to the sentiment and then brush out with a paint brush. Repeat the water and Aqua Pigment on the background. Don’t worry if the color puddles a little, it will add nice dimension.
Allow everything to dry or you can use a craft heat tool to speed up the process. Don’t hold the heat too close to the paper to avoid overheating the embossing powder.
Use a stencil or die to trace a heart around the sentiment and then cut it out.
If you have a tag die, use it to cut a tag from the background. If you don’t have a die, you can use a pre-cut tag and trace it for cutting. Cut a second, slightly larger tag out of a complimentary paper color or glitter paper.
Adhere the two tags together. Attach the heart to the base using foam tape. Add a few embellishments and a ribbon for the finishing touch.
Your tag is ready to pair with your favorite treats. Sharing homemade kindness is always the best gift!
