Stripes Stencil Background

Stripes Stencil Background

Hello! Jessica here with a card using the new Stencil Staples - Stripes stencil! I love these new stencils, they are so versatile. They can be used to make backgrounds for all kinds of cards and projects!

The stencils also pair perfectly with the Stick & Stamp mat and the Stencil Buddy. I used the Blending Buddy on the Stick & Stamp Mat, and added an A2 sized piece of the Perfect Blend cardstock.

Before I put the stencil on, I used some green ink with a blending brush to add some color around the edges of the panel.

Then, I put the stencil on, and inked again with the same green. I went in one direction with the blending due to the stripes, I would start from the edge going inward, and then from the other edge to meet in the middle - this also gave a darker strip near the outer edges of the panel.

I turned the stencil one turn, so that the stripes were in the opposite direction, and blending some blue ink onto the panel.

And the I needed some shimmer! I used the Pearl aqua pigment to add on a little splatter to this background. My favorite way to add splatter is to put some aqua pigment on an acrylic block, wet my paintbrush, and then flick the paint off the block onto the paper.

I was going for a simple card, because I wanted the background to shine. I used a tag from the Occasional Tags die Set and then stamped a cute puppy from the Four Legged Friends stamp set.

I wanted to add a little heart accent to the tag, so I die cut from the middle of the ink blended piece, because I knew this would get covered up. And now I had the perfect match for a heart accent!

I added a small Thank You sentiment to the tag, a little ribbon and then added it to the panel with a few foam dots. Here is our finished card!

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed!
