Stenciling With Media Paste

Stenciling With Media Paste

Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, sharing this card made with some media paste that I tinted with color burst powders.

If you've never used media paste, it is a thick paste that is usually used on mixed media projects. It dries with a slightly rough, gritty texture and stencils beautifully because of its thickness. I put two scoops of the media paste out onto my Waffle Flower mat and then sprinkled the color burst powders in Rouge and Jack-O-Lantern on top. Using a palette knife, I mixed the powder in to get a nice smooth color. I mixed a tiny bit of each together to make a transition shade, and then smoothed them through the stencil onto a piece of Alabaster cardstock.

When it was dry, I trimmed down the rough edges, and matted it on a piece of Gilded Glitterstock, and then again on another piece of Alabaster cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment with Gilded EP and trimmed it down to a banner shape, and used foam adhesive to stick it to the small stenciled panel. I adhered the whole thing to a larger card base with foam tape to finish it off.

Have you tried the Brutus Monroe media paste? It adds a fun texture to my projects! Be sure to share your Brutus Monroe creations to social media, and use the hashtags #BrutusMonroe and #CreateYourOwnEnding so we can see what you make!
