Steampunk Mixed Media Layout with Jess

Hey friends!

I'm back on the Brutus Monroe blog today to share a mixed media scrapbook layout with a steampunk vibe. This layout features the new stamp set from the August Inspiration Box.

I used a piece of patterned paper to start my layout. It had clocks on it, so I figured it'd work well with my layout. I used some gesso and then a gear stencil with texture paste to help build up some layers. I also applied Distress Oxide Spray inks in various shades of brown to help get things looking grungy.

Next, I painted my flowers with a Patina effect paste to give them a really cool aged appearance. I colored the air balloon from the stamp set with Copic markers and fussy cut it.

I adhered my elements on the page along with a photo of my two boys. I added a few accents like gold thread, some drawn pen lines, and some gold splatters. That finished off my 6x6 layout.
