Special Day Dress Card for Quineañera

Special Day Dress Card for Quineañera

Hello crafty friends! It's another Wednesday blog hop day for the Brutus Monroe inspiration team and I'm sharing this project made with the Special Day stamp set from the new release. I wanted a different look for this stamp, and I decided to make a card for a Quinceañera. For those of you unfamiliar with Quinceañeras, it is the equivalent of a Sweet 16, but it's on the 15th birthday. The dresses that the young woman wears for a Quinceañera are typically pretty full and puffy so I changed the look of the dress for this card.

I started by heat embossing the dress three times with Sterling embossing powder onto aqua pigment paper, and coloring it with a Zig marker. I cut out one of the whole dresses, and then I cut out two more of the skirt portion, layering them behind the whole dress. The effect is a much fuller skirt on the dress!

I die cut a heart from a panel of Sterling glitterstock and turned it into a shaker window. I heat embossed the "On Your Special Day" sentiment with Sterling EP onto Alabaster cardstock and trimmed it down into a banner shape. I then die cut the "15 años" from Sterling glitterstock and adhered it to Alabaster cardstock. I finished by adhering the dress to the front with foam tape.

I have so many ideas for this stamp! There are a lot of ways to modify the look of the dress, and use it for many occasions. Have you picked up any of the stamps from the new release yet? Share your projects on social media, and be sure to use the hashtags #BrutusMonroe and #CreateYourOwnEnding so we can see what you make!
