Special Day

Hello, crafty friends!  It’s Leigh from Stitches in Paper and I am so thrilled and honored to be a guest on the Brutus Monroe blog today!  I was so excited to create a card with the gorgeous Special Day stamp set… how incredibly beautiful is this wedding gown?  

This card came together so easily due to the beauty of this stamped image.  I started out by stamping my image onto white bristol smooth cardstock and embossing it with gold embossing powder.  I stamped an additional image on masking paper and cut out a quick mask, which allowed me to do some quick and easy ink blending to create a light aqua halo around the dress.  After stamping and embossing the sentiment from the stamp set, I created a die cut frame and added some hand stitching.

I wanted to keep the embellishments fresh and light to keep the focus on the beautiful dress, so I chose some paper florals in greens, white and kraft to embellish the interior of the frame.  I created some simple floral arrangements in the corners and added a small floral sprig onto the dress for a simple embellishment.

Don’t you love it when an image is so pretty that it simply needs some quick embellishments to create a beautiful handmade card?  I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I loved making it!
