Hi everyone! It is Verity here again from Pretty Little Button, so good to be back up on the blog again. Today this is quite a simple looking card with only one piece that is dimensional. However, it used second generation stamping to create a fun and soft background for the main sentiment and stamps to sit on. These stamps are from the Dreamcatching 4 x 6 stamp set, and it has so many beautiful stamps. The two small star stamps were used in creating this soft dreamy background.
Smile card details:
To start off trim a card panel down to size. Mount the two star stamps onto 2 acrylic blocks. Ink both stamps up and stamp onto your card panel. Before re-inking the stamp to stamp once before, stamp again onto your card panel. There will still be some ink left on the stamp, but as there isn't as much ink as when you first used it, it will give a soft light print.
This is second generation stamping, as you are stamping a second time before relading with ink. Keep repeating this process by loading your stamps with ink and stamping twice before your reload. This will give you a dark and light print and add variation to the background.
Using Raven Black Detail ink, stamp 3 feathers onto Alabaster card and fussy cut these out. In addition, also stamp the smile sentiment in clear embossing ink onto Raven Black cardstock and heat set in Alabaster embossing power.
To finish the background off, apply a layer of ink to the centre of your card with stencil brushes and softly blending the colour out. These brushes allow you to ink blend in the middle of the card without getting harsh lines.
Add a thin strip of diagonal pattern paper to one side of your card panel and mat onto a black card base. Adhere the feathers in the centre with craft glue and lastly, foam mount the sentiment above.
