Silhouetted Splendor and Chroma Mists
Have you checked out Brutus Monroe's recent release of slimline stencils? I picked the delicate floral Silhouetted Splendor to play with today.
For my background I started by spraying Chroma mists on plain card stock using Holly Berry, Coral Glow, Pink Glow and Pink. I set this aside to dry while I prepared the black card stock panel. I dusted the black panel on the top with anti-static powder. Using embossing ink I inked up the sentiment and used Gilded Sparkle embossing powder and heat set it.
Once the chroma mist covered panel was dry I sprayed the stencil with a temporary adhesive like the Pixie Spray to keep the delicate parts of the stencil from lifting. I put the stencil down and used black soot distress ink to blend lightly over the stencil. This leaves behind clean and bright-colored areas of chroma mist in floral shapes while the distress ink darkens the surrounding area.
Once everything was dry I teared the top part of my A2 paper for a torn look and did the same with glitter gold card stock for accent. Finally I glued down all my layers on the black panel and adhered that to an A2 card base. Added a few gold sparkles on the top to finish off the card.
Although Silhouette Splendor is slimline size it works perfectly for A2 size panel and has so much variety of florals that you can stencil. Give this technique a try and tag me if you create something.
