Shaker Shades With Watermelon Paper
Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, sharing this fun summery card. I know everyone is already making Halloween cards and even (gasp!) Christmas cards, but I just can't quite let go of these summer vibes yet!
I started by squishing the embossing ink pad all over a pair of the chipboard glasses, and heat embossing two coats of the Raven embossing powder. I used a piece of window plastic and traced around the outside of each lens area, and used scissors to cut inside the lines I had drawn. I glued the window plastic and lined it with very thin strips of foam tape. I filled the shaker windows with silver stars and chunky glitter, and then I stuck a piece of Raven cardstock onto the back. I trimmed around the whole pair of glasses with scissors, so that the whole piece was backed with cardstock.
On a piece of Alabaster cardstock, I used a MISTI to stamp the sentiment in Raven detail ink, and then leaving it in place, I dusted it with the powder bag and stamped it again in embossing ink, and heat embossed it with clear Icicle EP, to give it a shiny effect. I trimmed down that piece and layered it with foam tape onto panels from the Fresh Melon paper pack. I glued the sunglasses to the top of the card front, and adhered the whole thing to an Alabaster cardstock panel to finish it off.
