Season's Greetings
For slimline card week, I chose to go with the Christmas in July theme mixed with a little bit of mixed media! I first used a light blue ink and blended that around the entire front of my card. I then took three of the ornaments from the Plaid Tidings-Falliday Silhouettes stamp set and rolled each of the stamps in a different color ink, just around the edges. Doing this puts the ink just on the edge of the stamp.
I then stamped each of those in the place I wanted on the card front. Once stamped, I took my paint brush and a little bit of clean water and simply painted the stamp with water. This pulls the ink from the outside impression and allows for a lighter, highlighted, center. Once dry, I used a black pen to draw the strings and bows, adhered a few silver sequins and stamped my Seasons Greetings in Raven Detail Ink. That was it for the card! It came together very quickly and it's also flat, making it great to send in the mail. For the envelope, I did the same process, except I inked the entire ornament so it stamped solid.
