Sea Sparkle

Hello and welcome back, Joy here with you today! I'm stopping in to share a window card with a surprise pop element on the inside. This really is a fun card to make, and you'll find it isn't that difficult. I love cards that have a huge impact on the recipient don't you? Trust me they're going to love it! As a bonus, I have a fun technique to share using the June Stencil of the Month! I hope you have a go at this one!

Using Not Your Mama's card stock I created and A2 card base and then die cut a circle, using the Foundations Circle dies. A blue frame was made using 2 dies nested together and die cut. The cute little turtles from June Stamp of The Month were colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut out. I cut out on extra turtle so that the bleed through wouldn't be seen from the inside.

Speaking of the inside of the card isn't that pop up element pretty fun? But first, that background was made by using Simon Hurley Inks in Clear Skies, Tropical Tango and Remember Me and applying it extremely heavy. I then applied the stencil over top and generous spritzed with water and ran the entire thing through my die cutting machine to achieve the ghost effect and the slight embossing. The shells were also part of another background using the same stencil and then fussy cut out. To make the pop up element I cut a piece of card stock 3/4inch and then on one side scored at a 1/2 inch and glued the scored section to the front, inside cover. From there I arranged my scene so that it would show up nicely in the window. I added a few shells that I fussy cut from the Sea Sparkle paper pad for added decoration. For the second piece of the pop up element, I used a piece of card stock measuring 3/4 inch x 2 1/2in and scored at every 1/2 in to form a box. I glued the box at the end so that it would slide when the card opens. Are you wondering about the 2nd group of turtles on the front? Once the inside was complete I closed it and glued the front turtles so that it would layer directly over the inside set I hope that makes sense. You can always message me if you have questions.

I had so much fun with this and hope it inspires you to get inky today!

Until next time keep Crafting!
