Relaxing Hawaiian Sunset

Relaxing Hawaiian Sunset

Have you checked out the latest Inspiration Box ? Beach vibes abound !! The add-on for this month are the Beach Time stamp set/ Hibiscus red rubber cling along with Hawaiian Shirt stencil add-on. I’m using some of these products to create today’s card.

If you are more of a visual kind of person, feel free to follow along here : https://youtu.be/yWq0X7LXTN4

I started by ink-blending distress oxides on a slim line card panel. Next, lining up the Hawaiian Shirt stencil at the corners I lightly added more of the same distress oxide colors to intensify the stencil over the ink-blending leaving the middle areas of the panel clear of any stenciling.

Once the panel was dry, I covered it with anti-static powder to prepare it for heat embossing. Next I lined up the Long Beach scene stamp on a stamping platform and used the embossing ink over it and stamped it on the panel. Using alabaster white embossing powder, I then heat set it. Sometimes you miss inking up some areas of the stamp and as a result don’t get a 100% transfer. But using a stamping platform makes it easy to repeat the embossing process and cover those missed areas.

Once done I decided I wanted to also use the smaller shell stamps from this set. I lined them up so that I could create a border with them. I used the same distress oxides colors to match the border with the blended background. For the side of the panels I did an ombre kind of stamping. intention was to add interest without calling attention to the border.

Finally a simple sentiment in Raven black ink and some white pearls to finish this card.
