I started off by stamping the entire image onto a piece of Cardstock using a light color. Since this will all be covered up with the paper pieces we cut out, it doesn't matter what color you stamp this base, but I chose a lighter color just in case I had any areas that showed through.
Then, I used the Embossing Ink and Raven Embossing Powder to emboss the image onto a few different patterned papers from the
Autumn Foliage and
Pumpkin Spice paper pads, as well as orange and green
glitterstock. Did you know that you could emboss on glitterstock?! It is a game changer! Just be sure to tap your paper to get excess embossing power off before heating, it works great!
I was inspired to do this paper piecing technique by the amazing fall papers that Brutus Monroe has to offer! I had a hard time choosing which ones to use, I just loved them all!
While I was cutting out the images, to help keep track of the little pieces like the stems, I would just place them on the stamp where it matched. This helped me keep track of what pieces went where.
After all the pieces were adhered into place, I trimmed it down and matted it with orange cardstock before putting onto my card base. The twine and burlap add to that rustic autumn feel!
Thanks for stopping by today! and Happy Fall!
