Polar Vortex Botanical Background

Polar Vortex Botanical Background

This post honors all our friends suffering through the polar vortex that has a huge swath of the United States in its frosty embrace. I dreamed of a frosty winter hello for you today.  This card whispers of spring but quickly pulls you back to the dark cold of February 1.

For my card, I used the Botanical Background Stamp, the Hello script die, Rainbow Sparkle Embossing Powder, Alabaster White Pigment Ink and black cardstock.

I stamped the image of the background stamp onto some black cardstock using Alabaster Pigment Ink.  i poured some Rainbow Sparkle Embossing Powder over it and melted it til it was smooth with my Wagner Heat Gun.

Then I die cut the word 'Hello' from a piece of white cardstock five times. I adhered one of the Hellos to a piece of the same black cardstock and ran it through my Brother Scan n Cut to cut out a shadow around the word.  Then I stacked the five die cut words for dimension.  I adhered them all to the front of the card.  Then I trimmed the panel down to 4 x 5.25" and adhered it to a white card base.

For your convenience, I have included a list of supplies below.  I hope you have been inspired today to play your stamps during your stay indoors if you're suffering through the record freeze. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.
