Paper cranes card
Hello friends, what exciting times these are! Were you able to watch any of the 24 hours of the craftathon over on our Facebook page this past Friday the 14th? 21 brand spanning new stamp sets were released along with a few paper packs!! If you didn’t catch any of the lives, you can always go check out the replays in the future.
I was in charge of the 3rd hour and the 23rd hour of the lives and today I am going to show you the one I made in my first one.
I had been dying to play with the paper cranes set ever since I got them in the mail, they are such unique stamps and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
I started by stamping the paper cranes background onto my card stock to look like a curtain background. Next up I stamped the individual cranes onto a tone tan paper and using a couple of markers I added some dimension to them by coloring shadows in the places where he folds would be. I fuzzy cut the paper cranes from my tan paper and put foam squares on the back of all of them and set them a size.
Back to the background I stamped first, using a light blue marker I colored some shadows onto each of the paper cranes. I wasn’t worried about accuracy of the shadows, I just wanted to add some color to them so they wouldn’t look flat.
Next I stamped my sentiment from the take fly set using a stamp platform.
All I had left to do now was to attach my individual paper cranes onto my card and draw the lines to make them look like the ones in the background.
I mounted my card onto a tone tan card base and called it a day.
