Mixed Media Floral - come on Spring!

Mixed Media Floral - come on Spring!

 Hello Friends,

If you are like me, you will be glad to see Spring arrive later this week. In anticipation of Spring I have created a soft colored mixed media card to welcome Spring. I have used several different Brutus Monroe products to create this card along with some items from other designers. Please check out all the great Brutus Monroe stamps and stencils that will help you with your Spring cards.

Starting with a layer one (5 1/4"x4") ink blend your colors for the base. The next step is to add some printed tissue paper (Tim Holtz collection) using mixed media medium to adhere the tissue to the card layer. Over this layer I used the Brutus Monroe Stencil of the Month as a stamp to add another layer of design. I brayered paint onto the stencil and layered it onto the card. Using a paper towel I pressed the stencil down. Carefully lifted stencil leaving the image in paint.

The next step was to die cut the circle like pieces (die from Seth Apter collection) out of cardstock with printed words on it. I then cut the circle die into several pieces and glued them onto the layer using Brutus Monroe glue. To soften the edges of these pieces I applied Tim Holtz crayon and used my finger to rub it into the edge to mute the layer differences.

Now spray Brutus Monroe Liquid Element-sterling onto the layer. Blend ink onto the edge of the layer and the banner for the sentiment. Attach this layer to the card base. Stamp a sentiment onto the coordinating banner and attach using foam tape.

The final piece is the beautiful roses from the Brutus Monroe Botanical Banner stamp set. This stamp was scan n cut then colored using StyleFile markers and highlighted using colored pencils. This too was attached using foam tape to give the card dimension. The final piece was to add a few acrylic bubbles.

I hope this card has put you in the mood to start creating for the Spring.

Please share with us your creations at Brutus Monroe Facebook Fan Page.

Come on Spring!

Enjoy
