Masked Stripes With Ink Blending and Glitter Glaze

Masked Stripes With Ink Blending and Glitter Glaze

Happy Friday crafty friends! Lauren here, sharing this sparkly muted card with you. To make this card, I started off with a panel of Alabaster cardstock. I took several long pieces of purple tape and sliced them in half with my paper trimmer (I tried it and it worked great!). I masked off diagonal stripes and just eyeballed it for even spacing. I started blending with Plum surface ink towards the outer edges, then moved into Rouge, and finishing towards the center with Honeysuckle. Before removing the tape, I spread Fallen Snow glitter glaze across the whole panel. I took the tape off and set the panel aside to dry.

When the striped panel dried, it had this muted effect that sparkles like crazy!

For the sentiment, I used a stamp from the Love Bugs set. I tried it first with honeysuckle but it was a little too light and I tried it with Rouge and it was a little too dark, so I actually stamped lightly on a scrap paper with Rouge, and then inked it with Honeysuckle while there was still a little bit of Rouge on the stamp, and it was a perfect in-between shade! I die cut the sentiment and a slightly larger piece of vellum to layer it with, and popped them both up with foam tape.

Have you finished your Valentines yet? We've seen some super cool creations with the Love Bug set! Post your projects on social media, and don't forget to use the hashtags #BrutusMonroe and #CreateYourOwnEnding so we can see what you make! Have a great weekend.
