Layered Heat Embossing with Jess

Layered Heat Embossing with Jess

Hey friends!

It's Jess and I'm so excited to be on the Brutus Monroe blog today to share a vibrant card featuring January's Stencil of the Month and some fun heat embossing techniques.

To start things off, I used Embossing Ink and smeared it across a piece of white card stock. I used the January Embossing Powder of the Month (Conversation Heart) to coat the ink. I used my heat tool to melt the powder. I really like the uneven and random coverage - I think this made the card look neat!

Next, I grabbed my stencil and laid it over my heat embossed panel. I actually did the same thing here and applied the Embossing Ink through the holes of the stencil. I made sure to use an anti static powder tool beforehand to ensure the powder only stuck where I wanted it to. I used Raven Embossing Powder this time - how cool is that glossy black!?

Because I was obviously on a heat embossing streak, I kept the trend going by heat embossing the sentiment 'you make my heart flutter' in Alabaster Embossing Powder on black card stock. I fussy cut this and popped it up on foam for dimension.

To finish off my card, I added a few clear sequins. I matted my card front with black card stock and adhered this to a white card base. That's it! My card is all done for today!

Which subscription products do you get each month? Do you have a favorite? I'd love to hear about in the comments!

Hugs and love,
