Ink Smooshing - Not just for backgrounds!

Ink Smooshing - Not just for backgrounds!

Hey all! Have you seen this month's goodies?! I LOOVVEE the stamp set! So many pies and breads and just cuteness! I used a couple of the pies from the stamp set along with a paper from the Inspiration Box's paper pad and an aqua pigment to create this card.

I started with some watercolor paper and the Brown Aqua Pigment. I just squirted some of the brown onto my work surface to start.

I added some water to mix with the pigment to make it nice and fluid and reactive.

Then, I smooshed! I just moved my watercolor paper all over the aqua pigment on my work surface making sure to get good amounts of color all over the piece. I did this for 3 pieces of watercolor paper, because I wanted to use it on the background, as well as my focal images.

Once the watercolor papers were dry, I stamped out my pies. And used the Stencil with a light brown ink to make a background piece for my card. I also spritzed this piece with water and dabbed with a paper towel to add more interest and texture.

How cute are those pies! I love how the aqua pigment gave the pies that realistic baked look!

I used some copics to add some color and shadows to the pies, inked the edges of a die cut banner from the other watercolor paper and VIOLA! There is our card for today!

I hope you enjoyed today's post with this month's yummy stamps and stencil!
