Ink blending With String Lights

Ink blending With String Lights

Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, sharing this card I made with the new String Lights set. It's a great set to use with some quick ink blending for a card that comes together in no time at all

I started with a panel of Alabaster cardstock, and heat embossing the string lights at angles with Sterling EP. I used masking fluid to mask the little light bulbs while I ink blended over the background. I used distress oxides in Scattered Straw, Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Chipped Sapphire to make the background. I used an adhesive eraser to rub off the masking fluid, and used a tiny blending brush with Scattered Straw distress oxide over the bulbs and slightly outside of the lines, to create a glowing effect. I heat embossed the sentiment in Sterling down below. I used a white gel pen to dot some stars towards the top, and glued some silver star sequins as well. I matted the panel on some silver glitterstock and then Raven cardstock to finish it off.
