HOP - Thank You

HOP - Thank You

Hello everyone!! Welcome back to our blog, to our Hop. Our Mixed Media Team is using our Brutus Monroe products to make an Thank yous!!!

If you have not seen them yet, hop over here to see them in our store BrutusMonroe.com.

We hope that you find some inspiration in the projects our team put together.

To start this project hop along, BreAnn has created a project using our products to make Thank you projects:

I started with a Mixed #8 Media Tags and a few of my favorite blue shades of Aqua Pigment. I smooshed the ink around until I was happy with the texture. Next, I used the Art Stencil-Chapel to add a little more texture. I also stamped a few different stamps from Abstract Art around the tag. I stamped a few butterflies from Butterfly Sentiments on a piece of Not Your Mama’s cardstock and colored them with ink. I cut them out and glue them to my tag. To finish it off, I heated embossed sentiments from Butterfly Sentiments to make this tag a Thank You tag.

Next up on our hop, Jeanne has used Brutus Monroe's stamps and stencils:
Hello Brutus Monroe fans!! This week I'm sharing a couple of "Thank You" tags! I started with 2 of the Mixed #8 Media Tags (6 1/4 X 3 1/8) from Brutus Monroe adding a couple of layers of white gesso then heat drying them. Next using the Brutus Monroe "Feathers" with the Glitter Glaze-Silver , I stenciled over the tags. Letting them air dry, next adding a little bit of water to the Aqua Pigment - Pink and mixing in also some of the Aqua Pigment - Pearl, just enough to make it a little bit runny, using a thicker small brush I let the ink run along the areas where it didn't stencil . I then filled in the areas it missed with a smaller brush trying to get too much of the pink color on the silver glitter glaze. This I did on only one of the tags, the lighter one. For the other I used some Pink Mica Powder from my stash adding water to it with a drop of the Aqua Pigment - Pearl. Following the same process as the first. While they dried I die cut some colored card stock and white for my "Thank You" sentiment. I stamped the sentiment to the white card stock using BM Raven Detail ink . I then adhered the white one to the colored card stock the propping them up with foam tape adhering them to the center of the tags. Lastly embellishing with lace, flowers, flat back pearl trim , making my own glitter reinforces then adding some colored ribbon.

Lots Of Hugs~ Jeanne

For our next inspirational post using stamp and stencils Jenn created a clean and simple card:

Hello! This week I have made a set of three thank you notes using a splat technique for my backgrounds. I have used Aqua Pigments in Turquoise, Surface Sprays In Locomotive and Jack O lantern, and Raven Detail ink to stamp my sentiments. The splat technique is a great way to make clean simple cards.

Add ink or spray to a mat or glass mat and then spritz with a bit of water. Splat the pour into the pool of ink a couple of times to get the background then stamp a sentiment!
I hope you have an amazing day! Stay safe and create something every day!

Jenn

This next project Nicole used our Aqua Pigments and digital files to create her card:

For "Thank You" week, I was striving to create something that reminded me of a geode and marble combined.  I wanted it to be bright colors and have that gorgeous glittery shimmer. I really wanted this Thank You card to grab the attention of its recipient and really let them know that I appreciate everything they've done and continue to do.  For this project, I used the Thank You Shaker Cut File in the digital section of the Brutus Monroe shop.  I sized the image to 4 1/4", created a second circle the same size, then welded the two together to create the card base.  I then took a piece of watercolor paper and created a swirl effect by adding multiple layers of Aqua Pigments in Pink, Yellow and Gilded. Gilded is the gorgeous gold shimmer that you are seeing! It brings so much to this card! Once dry, I glued the water color piece behind the "Thank You" and added a few clear Acrylic Bubbles to finish the card. Simple, yet eye catching thanks to the beautiful Aqua Pigments!

Enjoy!

Nicole
