HOP + Surface Sprays

HOP + Surface Sprays

Hello everyone!! Welcome back to our blog, to our Hop. Our Mixed Media Team is using our Surface Sprays today, to inspire you!! If you have not seen them yet, hop over here to see them in our store BrutusMonroe.com.

We hope that you find some inspiration in the projects our team put together.  To start this project hop along, BreAnn has created a traditional card using the Surface Sprays

I started this project by stamping the Alley Cat stamp and heat embossing it onto Not Your Mama’s cardstock. To build my background I smooshed(technical term) surface sprays in Locomotive and Aubergine in layers. After the panel was dry, I used rectangle dies to cut the panel, as well as Raven and Aubergine cardstock for layering pieces. I used a stamp from Super Sentimental to finish the card on the inside.

Next up on our hop, Jeanne has used the Surface Sprays in her Art/Collage Journal:

Hello crafty friends! Jeanne here this week to share this week's project. We had to use the Brutus Monroe Surface Inks and use them with stamps. This is my first time using inks with stamping but it wasn't too bad actually! I decided to create a page layout on my Art/Collage Journal. On the left page I used the Feathers Stencil from Brutus Monroe around the edges using the Dried Marigold & Wild Honey Tim Holtz distress on this stencil. Rotating the colors. I then used the Brutus Monroe Surface spray in the Jack O Lantern color. I used the same stencil for the right side page. I used Stormy Sky and Iced Spruce Distress inks for the stenciling. I used the same flower stamp also, using the Locomotive Surface spray . I thought it coordinated great with the inks I used on the stencil.  I finished both pages off by adding paper ephemera, rice papers & and stickers from my stash for both pages. I hope that you feel inspired to try different ideas even if you never have tried them before! You might just surprise yourself!! I will be back next time with another project using the wonderful products from Brutus Monroe!!

Please stay safe during these times!!

Lots Of Hugs~ Jeanne

For our next inspirational post using the Surface Sprays Jenn created a clean and simple card:

A clean and simple card this week. I have used Surface sprays in Locomotive and Jack O Lantern. I sprayed them through the Chevron Stencil then placed a blank sheet of paper over that and burnished. I splattered with the Jack O Lantern. I added the Sentiment from the Flutter Stamp stamped in Raven Detail Ink . I added some cardstock mattes in coordinating colors and some sequins from my details kit.

Thanks!

Jenn

This next project Nicole used the Surface Spray to create her card:

For this card, I used a black, A2 sized card base and die cut an oval on the front. Using the Inked Flowers stamp set, I stamped out several of each leaf and heat embossed with Raven embossing powder. Once heat set, I painted each leaf with Cabbage Surface Spray making sure to keep the tips of the leaves white and the base & stem of each leaf the darkest. Once dry, I glued them around the oval to create a wreath.  I added white clusters of berries with a white gel pen.  For the sentiment, I used "life is better with friends" from the Flower Doodle stamp set, heat embossing it with Alabaster White embossing powder on the inside of the card. This serves as not only the outside greeting, but the inside sentiment as well.  I finished the card with heat embossing two small flowers from the same Inked Flowers stamp set and a few more leaves with the Raven embossing powder on white card stock.

Enjoy!

Nicole

Our last project on our Mixed Media hop using Surface is by Liz:

As part of the mixed media inspiration team for Brutus Monroe, I started using the cool surface sprays. On this mixed media card, I wanted to show the multiple uses and splattered the background of the card with the sprays. I then took my cheese cloth and wanted it to be purple. I started by spraying the Aubergine Surface Spray first, making sure to use a spray box.  Next I layered the "Smile On" stamp and some arrows.  Finishing the card off with butterflies and some sequins.

Keep Creating,

Liz

Thank you for stopping by. Remember to "Create Your Own Ending" and keep creating!!!
