Heat Embossing on Laser-Cut Mandala

Heat Embossing on Laser-Cut Mandala

Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, sharing my second card this week that involves the new mandalas!

I started by painting a panel of aqua pigment paper with the new Aqua Pigment of the month. This month the subscription delivered the most gorgeous iridescent pink shade called "Rhubarb" and I love it! I faded it out in the top by mixing it with some Gilded liquid element, which kept it shimmery but softened the tone. While that dried, I cut the giant laser-cut mandala into 4 equal sections with my paper trimmer. I used the embossing ink pad directly onto the mandala and squished it all over, giving it a nice wet coat. I covered the whole piece in Raven Sparkle embossing powder and heat set it. I dotted glue all over the back of the mandala and adhered it to the edge of the watercolor panel, and trimmed off any pieces hanging over. I matted the whole thing on a panel of Raven cardstock. I took another strip of Raven cardstock and heat embossed the "Happy Birthday" sentiment with Icicle (clear) embossing powder, and stuck it to the front with foam tape. I finished it off with some black sequins.

In this picture I tried to adjust the lighting and tone so you could see the iridescent purplish undertone that this aqua pigment has. It is stunning! I can't wait to try it out some more!

Have you tried the new mandalas yet? Post your projects on social media, and be sure to use the hashtags #BrutusMonroe and #CreateYourOwnEnding so we can see what you make! Have a fabulous weekend.
