Happy Holidays with Brutus

Happy Holidays with Brutus

For today's card, I really wanted to create a fun Christmas scene using Brutus from the Brutus and Friends stamp set. I went ahead and stamped out Brutus and then colored him in using colored pencils. I also stamped a little santa hat with a stamp I had on hand, and then I cut it out and adhered in onto Brutus using some foam adhesive.

Now that Brutus was finished, I set him aside and started building my background. I took some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and added some light grass to the bottom edges, and then I took some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and inked the sky. I also used some snowflake stamps from the "Oh, Deer!" stamp set and stamped them in the sky.

Then, I die cut some little trees and colored them with colored pencils, as well. I ripped a few pieces of vellum and adhered them to the front to make it look like snow banks. I glued the little trees around the vellum, and I also tucked Brutus behind the front vellum snowbank.

For the sentiment and the candy canes in Brutus' dish, I grabbed my "Love You A Latte" stamp set from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is stamped and embossed, and I stamped out multiple candy canes, die cut them, and colored them in. I then cut a little slit into the dog bowl and tucked two of the candy canes inside.

I mounted the whole scene on a little red polka dot paper and then adhered all that down to my card base. The very last thing I did was I added some Stickles here and there for some Christmas sparkle.

That finished the card! I love making cute little scenes and Brutus was just begging to be dressed up for Christmas. Its always a great way to stretch your stamps by mixing up sets to create what you need.

Hope you enjoyed today's card and thanks so much for stopping by!

Until next time,
