Grunge Glam Mixed Media Layout with Jess

Grunge Glam Mixed Media Layout with Jess

Hey friends!

I'm so excited to be on the Brutus Monroe blog for my very last post on the blog as an Inspiration Team member. This has been an amazing year of growth, adventure, and fun and I couldn't have hoped for a better team to share it all with. I'll still be creating with Brutus Monroe products and checking out what you guys are creating as well!

For my project today, I created a mixed media scrapbook layout using some awesome Brutus Monroe products. To get started, I tore up some patterned paper and layered two patterns together. I did some ink blending to make it look more worn and distressed. I grabbed the chipboard hot air balloons and adhered them to my background. I painted with some rust effect paste and splattered on some Oxide sprays.

I layered up a bunch of ephemera pieces including some stamped and colored images from the Steampunk stamp set. I fussy cut these and tucked them in with my other embellishments.

I made my own texture by combining small glass beads and matte gel medium to add some interesting texture as well. Gold thread was the perfect accent for this layout and I think it was just the right touch.

The photo for this layout is of me holding my oldest son up in the air. I was 2 weeks from my due date with my middle son, so it's a miracle I had the energy to do it! It's such a sweet memory and I'm so glad I could spend the time to document it with this layout.

Sending you all huge crafty hugs and inspiration,
