Green Sketch Foil Meets Enchanted Rose

Green Sketch Foil Meets Enchanted Rose

Hey crafty friends!

I'm thrilled to be on the Brutus Monroe blog today with an elegant card featuring the new line of foils from Thermoweb + Christopher Alan! Today I'm using the 'Green Sketch' foil and I know you're going to love it.

To start off my card, I used sticky embossing powder (this is basically powdered glue) on the Enchanted Rose Background Stamp. I kept this in my Original MISTI in case I needed to stamp it again. I stamped it on to navy card stock and then melted the powder with my heat tool.

Next, I quickly grabbed the Green Sketch Foil and laid it on top of the melted embossing powder while it was still hot. You don't want to wait too long or it will cool down and the foil won't transfer well. It's a good idea to have your foil ready to go before you melt your powder. I let the foil sit on top of the powder while it cooled and then burnished it (basically rubbed it really hard lol!) until I could tell the foil was coming off of it's transfer sheet and adhering to my card panel.

I got my die cut machine out and used the 'hello' die to cut through the bottom area of my card panel. I was careful to save all of the little negative space pieces from the insides of the letters. I mounted my foiled panel on to a white A2 sized card base and then glued on the little pieces to fill in the letters. Don't skip this step - it makes the card look so crisp and perfect!

I wanted to keep the focus on my foiled background and the sentiment, so the only embellishments I added were a few clear sequins. That finished off my card! Let me know in the comments if you've tried this technique or if you plan to now that you've seen it!

Hugs and love,
