Gosh Barn It!

Gosh Barn It!

When I first laid my eyes on the Weathered Wood paper pad, I knew I just had to have it! I immediately thought it would great for backdrops on just about anything. But I also thought it would be wonderful to paper piece with it, specially using it with the Farmhouse Friends stamp set. And the red weathered wood was just so perfect for the Barn stamp

I stamped out the barn from the Farmhouse Friends stamp set with Raven detail ink onto plain white printer paper. This served as the base of my paper piece design.

Then I stamped out the barn onto several colors of woodgrain cardstock depending on what best fit the image.

Then I fussy cut all the elements out and pieced them onto the white stamped base.

I pieced them starting from the object that would be the farthest away, like the silo, then the barn, then lastly the haystack and all the other design elements of the barn. Here is what it looks like all pieced and pasted together.

I also stamped the mother hen and her little chick on lighter piece of weathered wood. Then the fence and all the other elements to complete the design.

For the background, I white heat embossed the clouds from the Spiral Cloud stamp set using the Alabaster embossing powder onto watercolor cardstock and loosely water colored it with water downed Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean ( can use Simon Hurley Inks!). The grass area was watercolor cardstock water colored with Distress Oxide Ink in Lucky Clover and Twisted Citron (also can use Simon Hurley Inks!).

I stamped the "Best of Cluck" sentiment with Raven Detail Ink on the card front. I then mounted it on a white A2 size card base.

Hope this inspired you to use your favorite Brutus Monroe paper pads to paper piece your creations!

‘Til next time!
