Fishy Kisses
Hi friends!
Just loving the Stencil of the Month subscription and am having loads of fun creating with them. Today's card is based on another stencil and a soon to be retired stamp set from Brutus Monroe. For those of you that know me, you know how much I love the summer/beach/Caribbean feel so, how could I not see this stencil of a beautiful egg design as a water background? Where there is water there just has to be a mermaid.
Of course you may see this stencil as something else and please create with it in anyway you wish. I for one will love seeing how you interpret and create with it.
I started with a piece of blue cardstock and the February stencil of the month. Since I only used a strip of the "egg" it now appears as a potential water background. To this I stamped, cut out and colored the Underwater background stamp and the mermaid from the Mermaid Lagoon stamp set. I only used pieces of the background and added a grounding effect by adding sand and starfish across the bottom. Embossed the sentiment to a coordinating banner and assembled the card. The mermaid and sentiment were attached with foam tape to add dimension.
Please share your take on these stamps and stencil. All stamps and stencils are available currently on the Brutus Monroe website.
Enjoy
