First Tree of the Season

First Tree of the Season

Hi and welcome back! I'm so glad you joined us today. I know it's only October, but I couldn't wait to decorate my first tree of the season. To avoid my husband thinking I was crazy, I decided to stamp the first tree. I used the Falliday set which is so versatile as it is perfect for both the Fall and Christmas seasons! I'm curious, have you decorated a tree yet?

I used one of the leaf vein stamps from the Falliday set to make this Christmas tree effect, inked with Fake Plant. To add a little depth, I blended the same ink to edges. I used a Misti stamping tool to stamp the ornaments using pigment inks and heat embossed it with Icicle embossing powder. The simple sentiment was stamped with embossing ink and heat set with Raven Fine Detail embossing powder. Each ornament is fussy cut out and black floss added to "hang" them.
I love Christmas trees with great big bow toppers, so I had to add a 3 loop bow to accent my first tree of the season. In addition to the bow, I used some silver gemstones to embellish the ornaments and scene. The glamor card stock in Prom Night adds even more holiday shimmer shine.
