Feathered Friends and Mirror Stamping!
Hello, crafty friends! I have a fun card to share with you today featuring the Feathered Friends stamp set! This set is so fun for building scenes, and there are a number of heartwarming sentiments to go along with it.
I decided to build a scene today featuring the little birds, and I wanted two little birds on my birdbath looking at each other, so I took this opportunity to do a little mirror stamping! There are several ways to do mirror stamping, but I just focused on one way for this post. Please watch the video below for all the details!
So, I started by stamping the branches in the upper corner of my card, and then colored them in with my STYLEFILE MARKERS. These branches are so beautiful and you can stamp them in several different ways to make great backgrounds!
Next, I did my mirror stamping (shown in the video above) to create my two little birds facing each other. I then also colored these in with STYLEFILE MARKERS. Notice that how you color your bird, you can make it appear to be forward OR backward facing! Great way to stretch those stamps!
I then adhered the birds to my birdbath using foam adhesive. The whole front panel is also popped up with foam adhesive. I like a lot of dimension on my cards!
The sentiment is from the FEATHERED FRIENDS stamp set, as well, and I stamped it on some RAVEN CARDSTOCK and then embossed using ALABASTER EMBOSSING POWDER. I free-hand cut the sentiment out, leaving a black border around the words. I wanted a sweet little sentiment that didnt take away from the scene I created.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this card and mirror stamping technique inspires you to go forth and CREATE YOUR OWN ENDING!
Until next time,
Marie Nicole
