Favorite Techniques BLOG HOP!

Favorite Techniques BLOG HOP!

Welcome back to the blog, crafty friends! Its Wednesday again, and that means time for another BLOG HOP! The team is hopping along today, sharing their creations around the theme, "FAVORITE TECHNIQUES"!

There are so many techniques that you can incorporate into your art to make you vision a reality. Masking, embossing, coloring, watercolors, stenciling, ink blending... the possibilities are endless! We wanted to know what inspires each team member, and we thought you would be curious, too!

One fun and colorful technique that you may like is INK BLENDING! With ink blending, you use a brush or foam to apply ink to your paper. You can blend several inks together to get a gradient look, or just use one color of ink. Our SURFACE INKS blend beautifully, and since they are permanent when heat set, they are not going to run or smear if you add another medium over the top! Here's a few examples of blending with Surface Inks:

This one by Marie creates a beautiful twilight sky! She used the colors HONEYSUCKLE, MARSALA, PLUM, and MIDNIGHT to go from a light pink to a deep purple. Llike we mentioned earlier, since the ink doesn't run with other mediums, Marie was also able to splatter on some PEARL AQUA PIGMENT to add some sparkle to the background, as well!

You can also mask off certain areas on your card and blend. Here is a great example of some color blocking design with ink blending! The ink gives an even blend that makes it look like the cardstock truly is that color. The inks used here are HONEYSUCKLE and LOCOMOTIVE.

Ink blending is just ONE of many fabulous techniques so let's hop along with the team to see what they have created! Just click on the names below to hop over to their blogs. Don't forget to leave them some love! Happy hopping!
