Faux Stained Glass with Chroma Mists

Hello friends! Kathy here today, getting ready for Christmas with a fun mixed media project using the new Standalone Christmas Tree die set and Chroma Mists. Here are the supplies you will need to get started:

To get started, prepare a green background with Chroma Mist on watercolor paper. If you prefer, just use a dark green cardstock. Cut one each of the tree shadow and decorative front. Set aside.

Using the decorative face, trace the tree outline on a piece of acetate. Place the die under the acetate as your template for where to add color.

Use the paint brush to add Chroma Mist on the tree, starting with the darkest colors first, allowing the layer to dry before adding the lighter colors around it, to avoid making mud puddles. Keep adding color until the entire tree has been painted.

When the panel is completely dry, trim inside the cut lines. You want the acetate panel to be slightly smaller than the decorative face. Glue the acetate to the tree front.

If you will be using the panel on a card front, adding an additional layer of white paper behind the tree will make the colors brighter.

Add foam tape to the back of the tree front and then adhere to the tree shadow. Your stained glass panel is ready to use on a card or festive Christmas project.

Happy holiday crafting!
