Embossed Transparency Over Patterned Paper

Embossed Transparency Over Patterned Paper

Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, sharing this quick and easy floral card. I was digging through some of my patterned papers and re-discovered the Mermaid Lagoon paper pad. It is a retired pack, but Brutus Monroe offers quite a few other beautiful paper pads! This could be done with any patterned paper.

I started by trimming down the polka dot paper to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I then heat embossed the Vintage Floral stamp onto a piece of transparency and set it with Raven embossing powder. I trimmed around half of the image so it would cover the bottom of the card front. I put double sided tape on the back of the card front, along the bottom and the edged, and wrapped the transparency around the bottom and the sides. It is a cool effect because it pops up off the page just enough to give it some dimension. I heat embossed the sentiment onto Raven cardstock with Alabaster EP and trimmed it down to a banner shape, then adhered it to the front with a piece of foam tape. I popped the whole card front up onto a mat of Raven cardstock with more foam tape, and then used black sequins in the flower centers to finish it off.
