Dry embossing with stencils!

Dry embossing with stencils!

Hey there! Thank you for stopping by - I am so excited to share with you one of my favorite ways to use stencils! Brutus Monroe has so many beautiful stencils available - there is even a monthly stencil subscription!

If you have a die cut machine, you can emboss with stencils! I have a Vagabond and this is the sandwich that I use, starting with bottom and going up - platform, cutting plate, embossing pad, paper, stencil, cutting plate. Make sure you check out the instructions for whichever die cutting machine you have, and you may have to play around to get just the right one. If there is too much resistance, don't force it to go through.

(If you have any Pixie Spray residue on your stencil, you will either need to wash it off with soap and water or make sure the other side of the stencil is facing the paper. If you run a stencil through with pixie spray, the paper will adhere to your stencil and you won't be able to get it off!! ...ask me how I know... lol)

For today's cards, for one stencil, I used an A2 sized sheet of the Perfect Blends cardstock and for the other I used a sheet of the Elegant Essentials Gilded cardstock - omg this embossed beautifully!

This is such an easy and impactful way to use stencils! This can be the main focus of your card, all you need to do is add a sentiment and maybe a few sequins and you are done!

I'd love to see what you all create with your stencils! Tag me on instagram:
