Dreamy Thinking of You Card with Jess

Dreamy Thinking of You Card with Jess

Hey friends!

I'm excited to be on the Brutus Monroe blog today with another card tutorial. This card is bright and fresh with just the right amount of sparkle and shine!

To start things off, I used Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers to blend on a cloudy sky background. It's so dreamy! I love the way these colors worked together to create a slightly unexpected sky combination. I used the 'hello' die cut on my ink blended background and then cut an additional three 'hello' die cuts from white card stock. I glued one sentiment on top of another until they were all stacked with the ink blended sentiment on top.

I mounted my card front to an A2 sized card base in white. I used the negative space where my 'hello' was cut from to line up my stacked sentiment. I glued the sentiment into place. This gave an 'eclipse' look to the sentiment and made it stand out from the background a little more.

I took one of the Hot Air Balloon Chipboard Laser Cuts and sprayed it with a good coat of Pixie Spray. I let it dry for around 30 seconds or so and then placed my Purple Sketch Foil Transfer Sheet on top. I pressed firmly to make sure it was stuck to the chipboard well and then ran the chipboard and foil through my die cut machine using the embossing sandwich. This gives such a perfect finish!

I used a pencil and traced around the foiled chipboard on a piece of vellum. I used my Fussy Cutting Scissors to cut around the outline, leaving a border around the edge. I glued the chipboard piece on top of the vellum and then glued both of these to my card front.

For the final steps, I stamped out the 'thinking of you' banner from Botanical Banners using my Mini MISTI and the Peacock Feathers ink. This gave me a perfect color match to my background. I added a few clear sequins and that finished off my card! Hooray!

I hope this card inspires you to create something today! If it does, be sure to post it in the Brutus Monroe Fan Club page on Facebook or tag me on social media so I can see what you're up to.

Hugs and love,
