Creating with Chipboard Pieces

Hello, crafty friends! Welcome back to the blog! Did you know that Brutus Monroe has a number of amazing CHIPBOARD PIECES available in store? There are so many fun shapes that you can use on cards, mixed media pieces, and other projects! Today, I am using one of the SUNGLASSES pieces to create a bright and summery card!

The first thing I did for this card was to emboss over the sunglasses with GILDED SPARKLE EMBOSSING POWDER. I did this by squishing my EMBOSSING INK PAD directly onto the chipboard cutout, and then sprinkling on the powder. I then melted the powder with my Wagner heat tool.

For the background of my shades, I ink blended some SURFACE INKS using some orange, red, and yellow onto a piece of white cardstock. I then trimmed the cardstock down to fit right behind each lens. I love how the gold and orange looks so summery!

I used some rectangle dies to die cut some RAVEN CARDSTOCK to layer my glasses on. I glued my glasses down, and then added some die cut stars around the glasses that I cut from some gold foil paper.

For my sentiment, I used some of the Brutus Monroe letter dies to cut the words, "youre on fleek". I thought the sentiment was humorous and went well with the flashy glasses!

Before cutting my letters, I embossed the cardstock with GILDED SPARKLE, so it would match the sunglasses. I glued all the letters down with some liquid glue.

Lastly, I mounted the black cardstock rectangle on a card base made with a pattern from the BOLD RAINBOWS paper pack. I love all the bold colors on this card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope that you enjoyed today's card and were inspired to create with your own chipboard laser cuts!

Until next time,
Marie Nicole
