Hey crafty friends! Jess here - and I am so thrilled to be joining you for the first time as a member of the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team. Hooray!
For my very first official Design Team project, I decided I'd jump way ahead of things and get cracking on Christmas cards. I know, I know, it's only September! But if you're anything like me, Christmas will sneak up on you before you know it and you won't have your cards done in time. Let's get right into it!
To start off my card, I used the 'Snap' stamp set and picked my favorite camera. I repeatedly stamped the camera image in grey ink until it filled my piece of cardstock. I also snagged a piece of patterned paper and a little bit of glitter cardstock as well. I layered up my stamped background and cardstock first. Then, I decided to add in a few more accents as well.
I used the 'Merry Selfie' mini stamp set on black cardstock. I used white embossing powder for this. I taped down two of the corners using a fun, patterned washi tape. I also used the gorgeous Botanical Banners set. I stamped the whole image, but only colored in the largest flower using Copic markers. I love how the flower is grey-scale, but I left the leaves green. I popped the flower up on foam for some dimension and then cut a sentiment strip from my patterned paper that says 'merry christmas.'
To finish off the card, I used some pretty red sequins to help brighten things up a bit. I love how this turned out. The layers reminded me a little of a scrapbook page!
Let us know in the comments if you've started on your Christmas card already or if you wait until a little later to get started. We love hearing from you! Big hugs and love to you all,
