Brutus Monroe x Karen Burniston Week

Brutus Monroe x Karen Burniston Week

Welcome crafters to the week long event with Karen Burniston and her design team. We are excited to have this opportunity to work with Karen's amazing dies. If you are not familiar with them go to karenburniston.com to see all that she has to offer. She also has instructional videos to explain how her many pop up dies should be assembled. These videos are extremely helpful and easy to follow. Using her dies allows us one dimensional card makers to become multi-dimensional card makers.

Be sure and check back daily to see the Brutus Monroe design team creations and also follow Karen Burniston's blog to see her talented design team create using Brutus Monroe products.

I have chosen to use the Karen Burniston Tree Pop-Up die set to create a card front. I am excited to be able to use a pop up die as a non pop-up die.  (Although I didn't use them the set comes with flowers and additional individual leaves and tree swing to make cards for all seasons.) I created a fun summer day scene using Speckled Egg surface ink blended across the card layer and Benson (the dog) from Brutus and Friends stamp set. Green flower soft was glued below the blended sky using Brutus Monroe craft glue.

A white rail fence die cut was adhered using foam tape before adding the dog and tree elements.  I also used the tire swing from the Karen Burniston die set to give movement to the card. A sentiment (Brutus Monroe Rose Boarder stamp set) was stamped directly onto the card layer in Raven Detail ink and a few sequins glued on to give a bit of sparkle.

Please follow Karen Burniston's Facebook page to see all of her teams projects.

As always, share your creations with us on the Brutus Monroe Facebook Fan Page.

Enjoy
